My favourite ski places
One of the most beautiful places to go skiing in the world - not least because of the great scenery - Bariloche is situated at the top of the Patagonia region in Argentina, fabulous wines, mouth watering food, ... Cerro Catedral and Bariloche - my summer ski paradise.
Hochgurgel is so special to me; It is my autumn ski weekend place. Here we enjoy the first tracks of the season just before the ski season starts in Lech. The wonderful Scheiber brothers are one of a kind.
The breathtaking alpine loveliness of New Zealand's Southern Alps region is the stuff that dreams are made of: the inky charcoal of rugged, snow-scattered giants mirrored in the startling azure of Lake Wanaka; the dramatic white slopes invite to real world ski adventures. This soul stirring landscape lures me to New Zealand. A future must do.
For glacier skiing, mountain views, traditional grand hotel style hotels and outstanding food experiences.
Italy is so vibrant and inspiring. I love South Tyrolean hospitality, the unique Dolomites and marvellous architecture.
My father was running the ski school in Portillo in the sixties he still tells us about stark vistas of the craggy snow covered peaks reflected in the lake of the Incas and the impressive condors swooping down. I'm inspired to go. Skiing powdery slopes in the Chilean Andes is for me a dream come true.
On my wish list is a trip to Japan for skiing. I am dreaming about their mountains, their valley's scenic beauty and the Japanese food, of course!
