Here, dinner is less about formality and more about atmosphere: a fire in the background, familiar pleasures on the table, and the sort of easy enjoyment that tends to make people linger. Fondue, raclette and the simpler satisfactions of winter all feel entirely at home here. It is relaxed, yes, but never careless. Even the most comforting dishes deserve proper attention, and that is precisely the point.
