At Kristiania, dining is woven into the rhythm of the House. Breakfast may become lunch. A drink may become dinner. A simple fondue may become the evening everyone remembers.
The cooking is thoughtful rather than showy, generous rather than grand, and best enjoyed without too much ceremony. Some moments are quietly elegant, some deeply comforting, and some best left to unfold as they please.
The Restaurant
A contemporary Alpine table with a refined, generous spirit.
This is the culinary heart of Kristiania: a place for long dinners, candlelight, conversation and a view over Lech that never quite loses its effect.
The cuisine is rooted in the Alps, but never confined by them. With French precision, Belgian-born chef Jurgen Dirkx in the kitchen and seasonal ingredients drawn close to home, the Restaurant favours clear flavours, a generous table and the quiet confidence of doing things properly. Some dishes are made for sharing, others for lingering over. All are for guests who appreciate good food without unnecessary theatre.
Dinner at Kristiania should feel delicious, atmospheric and entirely at ease.
The Bar
Classic drinks, low lights, proper atmosphere.
Every house worth staying in should have a bar worth stepping into. Ours is for aperitifs, late-night conversations, classic cocktails and the agreeable possibility that one drink may become two.
Come for a Negroni, a glass of Champagne, something perfectly cold or something stirred the old-fashioned way. Stay because the room makes a convincing case for one more.
The Kaminzimmer
Firelight, fondue and the easier side of indulgence.
Not every evening asks for ceremony. Some ask for fondue, a good bottle of red and the pleasure of settling in properly. The Kaminzimmer is the softer, cosier side of dining at Kristiania: relaxed, candlelit and wonderfully unhurried. The sort of place where comfort becomes its own form of good taste, and the night tends to improve as it goes on.
Around the house
Some pleasures need no grand announcement.
There is breakfast taken properly, breakfast in bed, a lunch that turns out to be far better than planned, and afternoon tea that somehow always feels like an excellent idea.
There is private dining when the occasion calls for it, and the comfort of staying exactly where you are while dinner finds its way to you. At Kristiania, not every culinary moment needs a stage. Some are simply woven into the day.
