A House of Art & Conversation

Not arranged. Collected.

Collected over time, shaped by curiosity, and quietly open to new voices.

Some houses are decorated. Others are collected. Kristiania has always belonged to the second kind. Art lives here not as a statement, but as part of the atmosphere — in the rooms, in the details, in the things chosen carefully and kept for a reason. It gives the house depth, character and that rare feeling of having arrived somewhere with a point of view.

Collected, not composed

There is a difference between interiors that are styled and a house that has been gathered over time.

At Kristiania, art and design are part of the rhythm of a stay. A sculpture catches the eye on the way to dinner. A painting shifts the mood of a room. A lamp, a textile, a small object on a table somehow stays in the memory. It is all quietly woven into the experience, adding warmth, wit and depth without ever trying too hard.

A contemporary note

While the spirit of the house is deeply rooted, it has never stood still.

We have always enjoyed inviting new perspectives into Kristiania through artists, creative collaborations and cultural encounters that bring a fresh note to our mountain world. Not to make noise, but to keep the house alive, curious and in conversation with the present.

Sense Gallery Vienna at Kristiania

A new chapter begins with our contemporary art gallery pop-up in collaboration with Sense Gallery Vienna.

This new presence brings changing works, fresh perspectives and a quietly contemporary energy into the house. It adds another layer to Kristiania’s world: thoughtful, international, personal, and designed to be encountered rather than announced too loudly.

For us, it feels like a natural fit. Art has always belonged here. Now, it continues in a new form.

Conversation, naturally

At Kristiania, culture tends to arrive in the same way as the best evenings do: gracefully, personally and without too much fuss.

Sometimes that may mean a conversation, an artist encounter, a small salon moment or simply the pleasure of discovering something unexpected during a stay. We like experiences that feel human and quietly special — not over-programmed, just well placed.

Part of the house

Art is not a separate feature at Kristiania. It is part of how the house feels, how it welcomes, and how it stays with people. It shapes atmosphere. It invites curiosity. It gives texture to a stay. And perhaps above all, it reminds us that hospitality can offer not only comfort, but also perspective.
